Matt Reeves’ re-imagining of the Caped Crusader in an adult animated series is beginning to find its voices. While we got vivid character descriptions of Batman: Caped Crusader about a month ago, we didn’t know who would be speaking for them.

Today, however, we found out that some A-list talent has joined the series. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Christina Ricci (Yellowjackets) will be voicing Catwoman/Selina Kyle. Batman himself will be voiced by Hamish Linklater, whose previous credits include Midnight Mass, Legion, and playing Abraham Lincoln in Apple TV+’s Manhunt. Jamie Chung (Stone Cold Fox) will be voicing Harley Quinn/Dr. Harleen Quinzel, and Diedrich Bader (Better Things) will be voicing Harvey Dent/Two-Face.

Here is the official synopsis for the show:

Welcome to Gotham City, where the corrupt outnumber the good, criminals run rampant and law-abiding citizens live in a constant state of fear. Forged in the fire of tragedy, wealthy socialite Bruce Wayne becomes something both more and less than human—the Batman. His one-man crusade attracts unexpected allies within the GCPD and City Hall, but his heroic actions spawn deadly, unforeseen ramifications.

I like the idea of Ricci voicing Catwoman, and I’m sure she will give the character an alluring spin. The same goes for Linklater voicing Batman/Bruce Wayne. How much this series stands out from Batman projects before it, however, remains to be seen.

The good news is that we only have to wait until August 1, 2024 to see all ten episodes of Batman: Caped Crusader streaming on Prime Video. icon-paragraph-end
