Trailer For Bodies Bodies Bodies Reveals That One of Those Bodies Is Lee Pace

A bunch of rich twenty-somethings are having a hurricane party (that’s a thing?) and oops! Someone gets actually murdered while playing a party game!

I admit I was skeptical of the premise of Bodies Bodies Bodies. Then I watched the trailer, however, and now I think I want to watch it? Lee Pace is in it, after all. (Though I think he’s the one who dies? I could absolutely be wrong about that.) The rest of the ensemble cast looks pretty great in the trailer as well, and does a great job balancing the slasher elements of the movie with the film’s strong satirical take on what it means to be a privileged twenty-ish-year-old in 2022.

In addition to Pace, Bodies Bodies Bodies stars Amandla Stenberg, Maria Bakalova, Myha’la Herrold, Chase Sui Wonders, Rachel Sennott, and Pete Davidson. Davidson does a great job playing an obnoxious sex-crazed dirtbag while the remaining cast try to stay alive and not get triggered, gaslit, or involved in toxic conversations.

Yeah, I know. It sounds terrible when I write it, but again, the trailer looks fun? The story also comes from author Kristen Roupenian, who is best known for writing The New Yorker short story, “Cat Person.” React to that piece of information as you wish.

The creative team for Bodies Bodies Bodies goes well beyond Roupenian—it’s directed by Halina Reijn, the screenplay was written by Sarah DeLappe, and the independent production company A24 is backing it.

Bodies Bodies Bodies slashes its way into theaters on August 5, 2022.
