In April, we got a brief teaser for the next season of Star Trek: Lower Decks—one that suggested the upcoming third season is going to involve some spaceship-stealing hijinks. Now, Paramount has announced the premiere date for that season, and released a piece of key art that will definitely look familiar to Trek fans.
What do we have here?
When the stakes are high, they go lower. The #StarTrekLowerDecks crew returns on August 25th!

For season three, it seems Lower Decks is going in a Star Trek III: The Search for Spock kind of direction. (Or at least the art is.) Only the tiniest summary has been shared: “Season three of Star Trek: Lower Decks challenges the U.S.S. Cerritos ensigns in (hilarious) ways they could never imagine, starting with a shocking resolution for season two’s epic cliffhanger finale.”
Said finale involved Cerritos Captain Carol Freeman (Dawnn Lewis) getting arrested for something she definitely didn’t do. In the first teaser, Mariner (Tawny Newsome) and her friends decide to try to rescue the captain—who is also, of course, Mariner’s mom—and steal the ship. Absolutely nothing will go wrong with that plan, right?
A brief clip from the upcoming season was recently shown on The Ready Room. It features a lot of future raisins.
Lower Decks premieres on Thursday, August 25th on Paramount+.

A Prayer for the Crown-Shy
Huboy – all these clips that are geolocked – it’s so dumb. I’m in a country with Paramount plus and Amazon. What a bore
Hopefully the crew will be coming back to Prime – I’m still growling over DISCOVERY being yoinked from Netflix and less than pleased that STRANGE NEW WORLDS would require another subscription to watch.
All those women on the raisin farm are raisin box advertising pictures, right? I recognized Sun-Maid.
I choose to believe the Raisen Womenz are all Brad’s exes and he’s playing hard to get.
