I’m honored to announce that Kai Ashante Wilson has won the 2016 Crawford Award for his debut Tor.com book The Sorcerer of the Wildeeps. The Crawford Award is presented annually by the International Association for the Fantastic in the Arts, and honors an author’s first book of fantasy fiction. The judges cited Wilson’s “fresh and powerful voice,” “gorgeous language, great characters, and wonderfully imagined setting.”

The award will be presented at the 37th International Conference of the Fantastic in the Arts on March 19th in Orlando, Florida. More information about the conference and the award can be found here.
