Of all the many (many!!!) Marvel series hitting Disney+ in the coming years, the one I’m most excited for is What If…? because this is the one that has the most chance of going utterly bonkers. And if this trailers anything to go by, bonkers it shall go.

In a brief two minutes we get Doctors Strange fighting each other, Yondu stopping by Wakanda to pick up a brand-new Star-Lord, and, um, CAPTAIN PEGGY CARTER WITH HER AMAZING SHIELD AND HOLY—
What If…? features the voices of just about everyone who ever popped up in the MCU, including Hayley Atwell as Peggy Carter, Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury, Jeff Goldblum as the Grandmaster, Karen Gillan as Nebula, Natalie Portman as Jane Foster, Josh Brolin as Thanos, Taika Waititi as Korg, Dominic Cooper as Howard Stark, Chadwick Boseman as T’Challa/Star-Lord (wait, does that mean that he’s playing Peter Quill or that T’Challa is Star-Lord in his story, well, this is why you should watch the trailer…), and Jeffrey Wright as your host, Uatu/The Watcher. Plus many more, that’s only really half the cast we’re getting.
What If…? will bless our timeline—and possibly several others, who knows?—in Summer 2021.
