The Babylon 5 reboot at The CW managed to survive the many rounds of cuts the network made in the lead up to its eventual sale. According to creator J. Michael Straczynski, however, the fate of the show is still uncertain, and he wants fans to express their support for the show on the Interweb so The CW’s new owners as well as Warner Bros. TV know there’s an audience for the sci-fi show.

“The fate of the #Babylon5 pilot may be decided end of this month,” Straczynski wrote on Twitter. “Though much of @TheCW was bought by @NXSTMediaGroup the decision also rests heavily with @WarnerbrosTV. If fans want to show their support for B5 & let them know you want this to happen, now is the time.”

Straczynski also dropped the hashtag #B5onCWin23 as the rallying point for fans to prove their desire to see the reboot. The hashtag became the top trending one on Twitter at one point, so here’s to hoping that The CW and Warner Bros. TV are listening.

We don’t know much about the new Babylon 5 show other than it will be a “from-the-ground-up” reboot. Fans first became concerned by the show’s status when it wasn’t on The CW’s fall 2022 pilot lineup. Straczynski at the time assuaged fears that the show was cancelled before it got off the ground, but with his tweets today it looks like the pilot is in peril.

Want the reboot of Babylon 5 to move forward? You can use the hashtag above on the social media platform of your choice and cross your fingers that we’ll be able to see the show on our television screens once again in the near future.
