The leaping has just gotten started. NBC’s Quantum Leap sequel series, which picks up thirty years after the original Quantum Leap, will continues its time-traveling adventures: Variety reports the show has been renewed for a second season.
The new series is about Dr. Ben Song (Raymond Lee), who restarts the Quantum Leap project—and then makes an unexpected leap without telling his team, or anyone, what he’s up to. Making things worse, one of his teammates is his fiancee, Addison Augustine (Caitlin Bassett), who he leaves behind on this mysterious leap. And what’s more, in the past, Ben doesn’t remember who he is—or who Addison is to him.
The show also stars Nanrisa Lee (Picard) as the project’s head of security; Mason Alexander Park (The Sandman) as its AI architect, and Ernie Hudson (The Crow) as the leader, who has the incredible name “Magic Williams.” Reviewing the pilot episode, Leah Schnelbach wrote, “I think the sequel is off to a good start, heading in an interesting direction—and the cast more than makes up for any initial bumps in the quantum accelerator.”
Quantum Leap airs on NBC, and is available on Peacock the following day. No premiere date has been announced for the second season.
