If you watched the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Hawkeye series on Disney+, you’ve seen glimpses of the fake Broadway musical composed by real-life songwriting team, Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman. The song we heard—“Save the City”—is a catchy one. It’s so catchy, in fact, that Disney decided to revisit the world with a one-act musical.
This one-act musical will be performed at Disney California Adventure Park (the theme park right next to Disneyland in Anaheim, California) at some point this summer. Here’s the Disney Park Twitter account sharing the news, replete with a video showing what looks like it could be Peggy Carter walking toward the front of Hyperion in the aforementioned park:

The presence of Peggy suggests that this musical will focus on the entirety of Steve Rogers’ (a.k.a. Captain America’s) life. Marvel has confirmed, however, that the theme park performance is part of the same fake musical we saw in Hawkeye that showed the Battle of New York portrayed in the 2012 MCU film, The Avengers.
On Hawkeye, all the living Avengers were invited to the musical’s premiere but only Clint Barton (a.k.a. Hawkeye) showed up to actually watch. I have a feeling, however, that Disney won’t have a problem with ticket sales when the show finally opens. And while we don’t have specific dates yet on when the show will make its way to DCA, we do have that episode of Hawkeye to watch as well as “Save the City” to listen to, the latter of which you can experience via the video below.
