Fans of the Survivor trilogy Tomb Raider video games (Tomb Raider, Rise of the Tomb Raider, Shadow of the Tomb Raider) are in for a treat: Netflix is releasing an animated series called Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft, which takes place after the events of those games. And today, we have a trailer that teases what’s in store for Lara.

Here’s the synopsis for the upcoming show:

Following the events of the Survivor series, Lara Croft has abandoned her friends to embark on increasingly more perilous solo adventures. But she must return home when a dangerous and powerful Chinese artifact is stolen from Croft Manor by a thief with an uncanny personal connection. Her daring pursuit will take her on an adventure around the world and to the depths of forgotten tombs, where she will be forced to confront her true self, and decide just what kind of hero she wants to become.

Hayley Atwell voices Lara Croft in the series, with, Allen Maldonado playing a character named Zip. Earl Baylon is also reprising his role as Jonah from the Tomb Raider video games. The show is executive produced and written by Tasha Huo (The Witcher: Blood Origin, Red Sonja).

All eight episodes of Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft premiere on Netflix on October 10, 2024.
