The last time Adrianne Palicki was on television in a comic book-inspired series, she was supposed to helm David E. Kelley’s questionable Wonder Woman project. Before that, she appeared in the pilot for The WB’s Aquaman, which also didn’t get picked up. Now, according to The Hollywood Reporter, third time’s the charm, as Palicki joins Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
Palicki will play Bobbi Morse, better known to fans as Mockingbird. Though very human, her physical attributes and senses have been enhanced to near-perfection—combined with her experience with the battle stave, earning her the designation of Agent 19 within S.H.I.E.L.D. (So she’s Batman, basically.) Of course, with the organization in tatters, we’ll be curious to see how that changes her backstory, especially where her loyalties lie.
Bobbi will first pop up in the fifth episode of season 2. After that, it’s anyone’s guess as to if she’ll return. And if she does, maybe she’ll bring Hawkeye (her buddy and potential husband from the comics) with her, and then Jeremy Renner will be on TV looking like he wants to be anywhere but here, and finally we will have a character on the show who feels just like we do.

Comics has her recovering from a mortal wound via use of a serum ( caps and fury’s). In AoS…. wonder if she worked on Tahiti under Coulson, or if she was a test subject? Maybe both?
Finding it hard to believe you’re still taking digs at the show after the amazing post-Cap 2 turnaround it pulled. After how the first season ended, I’m really looking forward to seeing the new one.
@2 Agreed.
Can we have someone who actually likes the show report on it?
Pretty excited to have Mockingbird on the show, will be interesting to see how she comes into play.
Right with you there @2-4.
That said, this should be pretty cool. Adding a powerhouse from former SHIELD could help Coulson pick up the pieces…. Of course, it could also be that she wants things to stay busted and actually opposes Coulson & friends efforts. Idk, we’ll see, but it should be good. Either way, bring back Fitz!!
agree with @2-5 above
We click on these articles because we like the show, and are interested in what is going on. Stubby has every right to an opinion (and we now have absolutely no doubt as to what that opinion is), but we would prefer not to be bludgeoned with it every time we read an article. Being a fan of a TV show does not need to be an adversarial expeience. How about if Stubby found another show to comment on, and maybe then we could “have someone who actually likes the show report on it?”
To be honest, I thought the show pulled an awesome turn around. I’m pretty engaged and looking forward to season 2 + really geeked that Mockingjay will be appearing. There is so much material within “S.H.I.E.L.D.”
I think the negativity about the show is inappropriate from someone who is letting us know what’s going on with the show. IJS
Yes to all of the above comments.
Hey Stubby! You have long been very cool and impartial in your postings here. But lately, you have been rather opinionated, and even snarky at times. Did you wake up on the wrong side of the launchpad or something?
Actually don’t have a real opinion on AOS, watched the first few episodes and it didn’t strike me as ‘must watch’ TV – for live viewing. Caught the occassional rerun, and find it plenty watchable enough that I’d probably stream off/marathon view, sans commercials, at some point – not that I don’t see flaws … but that’s not why I’m here.
Even before reading the comments, I thought this was a pretty non-typical (e.g. less whimsey, less fannish, not particularly clever or funny and more reporter-ish) StR posting. I’m with #10 here.
Beyond that, I’d agree that if it’s news (particularly a brief tidbit of news), we don’t really need Opinion/Analysis. The background is great for non-comic book fans – but save some of the commentary for the actual episodes – opinions are fine, negative or positive, in reviews, and if news should be analyzed (e.g. Wonderwoman’s heels/outfit, etc. as a perfect example), do it as an actual member of the staff, not as Stubby.
