AT LONG LAST. We’ve been waiting patiently, and here’s the reward: The first trailer for Amazon’s The Wheel of Time.
This adaptation of Robert Jordan’s beloved books has been in the works for years; like so many other things, its production was delayed by the pandemic. But here they all are: Moiraine (Rosamund Pike), al’Lan Mandragoran (Daniel Henney), Rand al’Thor (Josha Stradowski ); Nynaeve al’Meara (Zoë Robins), Perrin Aybara (Marcus Rutherford), Matrim Cauthon (Barney Harris), Egwene al’Vere (Madeleine Madden) and the rest.

The Eye of the World: Book One of The Wheel of Time
A non-spoiler summary for you:
Set in a sprawling, epic world where magic exists and only certain women are allowed to access it, the story follows Moiraine, a member of the incredibly powerful all-female organization called the Aes Sedai, as she arrives in the small town of Two Rivers. There, she embarks on a dangerous, world-spanning journey with five young men and women, one of whom is prophesied to be the Dragon Reborn, who will either save or destroy humanity.
Last month, Entertainment Weekly provided our first real look at the cast in costume and on set, but those were just teases compared to seeing a bit of the full production. The trailer is mostly mood and flashes of character, without explaining too much of the story beyond the basic setup: that women who can touch the power protect the world. And dark times are coming. (Presumably we’ll get into more detail in later trailers; this one’s just a teaser!)
The Wheel of Time premieres on Amazon on November 19th, 2021.
