Marvel and ABC have announced that Whedon alum Amy Acker will appear in an upcoming episode of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. as Coulson’s left-behind girlfriend, the cellist from Portland.

Acker’s character doesn’t know her beau is alive and has possibly moved on and won’t it be exciting to have Coulson seek her out only to learn that? WHY COME BACK TO LIFE WHEN IT IS SUCH PAIN?

Thank you for posting that video. That is one of my favorite scenes in one of Shakespeare’s plays that I most enjoy. I know that it is not generally rated as one of his greatest but something about it appeals to me.

Amy Acker is great! But my reaction to this was less excitement and more, oh, of course it’s Amy Acker. Because Whedon meta-casting.

Cute meta-casting does not in itself equal good writing, so I really hope they bring it on the story.

Since Amy Acker’s an opening-credits regular on another network show right now, this isn’t likely to be more than a one-off.

Just speculating, without any facts or knowledge, but . . .

I think the “cellist” will be more than she seems.

Yay Amy Acker! Yay cellists (I am one)! Yay Coulson! Yay Shakespeare!

On a side note, Alexis Denisof sounds so much better with a British accent. I am loving him on Grimm right now.
