When “White Vision” swooped off into the sky at the end of WandaVision, it was pretty obvious we hadn’t seen the last of this latest incarnation of Paul Bettany’s character. And now, Deadline reports, it’s official: A second WandaVision spinoff, called Vision Quest, is in development at Disney+.
Deadline is slightly cagey about who’s involved, saying they “hear” the series will be in the hands of WandaVision writer and creator Jac Schaeffer, and will be about Vision “trying to regain his memory and humanity.” Maybe Wanda (Elizabeth Olsen) will appear; maybe not.
The stories of many other WandaVision characters have been continuing, with Wanda in Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness, and Agatha (Kathryn Hahn) spinning off into her own series, Agatha: House of Harkness, along with Emma Caulfield’s Dottie. Vision’s future (or lack thereof) has been vague until now, though Bettany was also vague when asked whether he might continue to play the character. Last summer, the actor told Deadline, “But you never know with Marvel, whether you’re done, or not. So I don’t want to call it the end yet. This was one of the most creative experiences of my life, joyful and free, making this show. To see it embraced by an audience the way it was, was so wonderful.”
No further casting or production timeline has been announced for Vision Quest.
