Adam McCauley
Adam McCauley draws all of the time. Luckily, he enjoys it. You can see his work in magazines like Consumer Reports, Los Angeles and Reader's Digest, or in an occasional advertisement such as his yearly series of posters for The Oakland Zoo or The Social Security Administration. He also draws a lot of book covers and children's books, his latest being Mom and Dad are Palindromes by Mark Shulman (Chronicle Books), and Oh No, Not Ghosts! by Richard Michelson (Harcourt), both designed by Adam's wife Cynthia Wigginton.
Adam is also known for his illustrations for Jon Scieszka's Time Warp Trio series, as well as the redesigned Wayside School series by Louis Sachar. Most recently he's been illustrating the fabulous new series Gym Shorts, by Betty Hicks, which explores the sporting lives of five young neighborhood friends. In 2009, look out for his illustrated picture book June & August (Abrams) by Olive the Other Reindeer author Vivian Walsh, and The Monsterologist: A Memoir in Rhyme by Bobbi Katz, which was winner of the gold medal from the Society of Illustrators.
When he's not drawing, Adam enjoys cooking, playing drums and surfing in the cold Pacific waters. You can see more of his work at adammccauley.com
