Twitter user CC Rollins posted this image of Benedict Cumberbatch from SDCC 2013’s Sherlock panel, which sounds like it was as fabulous as you would hope! Stephen Moffat, Mark Gatiss, and Sue Vertue were on hand for an interview and audience Q&A (when asked about the missing Freeman and Cumberbatch, Moffat responded that they weren’t at Comic-Con because “one is a high-functioning sociopath, and the other is a Hobbit…”).
They announced that the third season will focus on John Watson’s reaction to Sherlock’s death and return, and a wedding will be celebrated—although Sherlock probably won’t be so happy about it. And…there will be a fourth season… at some point!
Finally, for those of us who couldn’t make it to San Diego, EW.com has graciously provided a video of Benedict Cumberbatch explaining how Sherlock survived. There is a monkey, and Martin Freeman looking dashing and leaning out of an airplane.
