LeVar Burton is taking his podcast on the road! LeVar Burton Reads is currently on tour, with the next stop San Francisco on April 29. There, the former Reading Rainbow host-turned-podcaster will welcome special guest Charlie Jane Anders, author of All the Birds in the Sky and the forthcoming The City in the Middle of the Night, to read and discuss one of her science fiction short stories.
Burton tweeted about the event last week:
Get ready San Francisco! Your #LeVarBurtonReads LIVE! show on 4/29 features a story by and conversation with the fantastic sci-fi writer (and @io9 co-founder) @CharlieJane! This is gonna be fun…#bydhttmwfi

The live show will take place Sunday, April 29, at 8 p.m. (doors 7:30) at the Palace of Fine Arts in San Francisco, CA. Tickets available here.
If you’re not able to make the live show, it will eventually be released online. In the meantime, listen to Anders’ new podcast with Autonomous author Annalee Newitz, Our Opinions Are Correct.
Binti author Nnedi Okorafor was the special guest for LeVar Burton Reads’ live show in Chicago on March 23:
Still can't believe this happened two days ago. Meeting @levarburton really is like literally meeting a rainbow! Hearing him read my story ("The Winds of Harmattan") live for the #LevarBurtonReads podcast was surreal.
