Are you a big fan of Rachel Weisz, star of the 1999 cinematic masterpiece The Mummy? If so, the series Dead Ringers might be just the thing for you. It might also be just the thing for you if you like dark comedy full of twists and general weirdness (it is a remake of a David Cronenberg film, after all).

The trailer gives us lots and lots of Weisz, who plays identical twins who are way, way too wrapped up in each other’s lives.

Here’s the show’s official synopsis:

A modern take on David Cronenberg’s 1988 thriller starring Jeremy Irons, Dead Ringers will feature Rachel Weisz playing the double-lead roles of Elliot and Beverly Mantle, twins who share everything: Drugs, lovers, and an unapologetic desire to do whatever it takes—including pushing the boundaries on medical ethics—in an effort to challenge antiquated practices and bring women’s health care to the forefront.

The trailer teases what medical boundaries the two may be pushing by having one of the Weisz characters say they’re going to grow someone a baby “out of nothing.” Either Elliot or Beverly (aka Weisz or Weisz) also asks, “Is capitalism very bad?” I’ll let you answer that question for yourself.

In addition to Weisz and Weisz, Dead Ringers stars Britne Oldford (The Umbrella AcademyAmerican Horror Story: Asylum) as Genevieve, Poppy Liu (HacksiCarly) as Greta, Michael Chernus (SeveranceOrange is the New Black) as Tom, Jennifer Ehle (Zero Dark ThirtySaint Maud) as Rebecca, and Emily Meade (The DeuceThe Leftovers) as Susan.

It premieres on Prime Video on April 21, 2023.
