We’ve had a slew of very odd Terminator films in recent years, but never fear… Sarah Connor is back.

Hold on to something…

This movie contains so many things that we want. Sarah Connor. Mackenzie Davis’s new Terminator. A brief flash of Schwarzenegger. Women protecting each other. Terrifying special effects. Even a pretty darn solid music cue, which is very hit-or-miss in trailers these days. And did we mention that we’re excited for Sarah Connor?

Terminator: Dark Fate will hit theaters on November 1st.

This trailer gets a big “meh” from me. Hopefully they’re still working on the CGI; it looked pretty terrible.

The summer T2 came out, I wanted to be Linda Hamilton so bad. TAKE ALL MY MONEY.

(But also Lena Headey was a fantastic Sarah Connor, too.)

Sarah Connor’s cavalry moment has me pretty jazzed. Liquid metallic terminators seem pretty played out though, they’ve been done.

“pretty darn solid music cue” = cover of Bjork

I keep hoping they’ll stop trying to emulate T2 for once with the big CGI action extravaganza and move towards the leaner and meaner style of the first movie. Something like Mad Max Fury Road and Logan did with their franchises. Sadly, it appears they hit T2 button again.

I want to see this for the leads. Sarah Connor’s entrance was great. Love the young and old people mix.

Not so sure about the big airplane fight. Hope it won’t dominate  the movie.

Terminator without Linda Hamilton was simply quite pointless.  Now that her Sarah Conner is back, and include the great Mackenzie Davis (Halt and Catch Fire, Black Mirror San Junipero, Blade Runner 2049) and I am SO THERE.  I’d pay just to see Sarah Conner stalk out of that truck again.  Is Arnold in it?  Don’t care.  Linda and Mackenzie are enough.

Wonderful to see Linda Hamilton again, but at this point, for me, all Terminator sequels bring this article to mind, and not much else: https://entertainment.theonion.com/new-terminator-movie-brings-j-d-salinger-out-of-hiding-1819570813

After the crime that was the John Connor of Genisys, I’m giving this a hard pass and re-watching the Sarah Connor Chronicles instead.

Linda Hamilton was fine in the first movie. One of the better damsels in distress.

But in the second movie she and her (fictional) son really ruined the pace of that movie. T2 a very good movie. But i remembered being a bit disappoited after seeing it in the cinema back then (was never so hyped to see a movie, The Terminator was fantastic). It just didn’t have that perfect flow of the first one.

They should just forget all the old movies and start fresh.

No remakes, just create a new good Terminator story.
