The above video is a fan-made trailer made by Joel Furtado for a non-existent Legend of Zelda game titled “The Lost Oracle.” It’s set in the same style (and perhaps the same world) as The Wind Waker and wonderfully evokes the nostalgiac feeling of playing the very first Zelda game. The appeal is so clear that it makes me wonder just why they haven’t redone the game in Wind Waker style. Obviously, from Furtado’s animation, it would be exciting as hell.

Redo the first Zelda in Wind Waker style? I have to assume you mean just a graphical update a la Super Mario All-Stars (or heck, Link’s Awakening DX) and not a full conversion to 3-dimensional levels and character models.
Not that this trailer gives me “Zelda 1” vibe at all. It actually reminds me a lot of the old Dragon’s Lair arcade game, with that you’re-playing-a-cartoon look and feel. That would be make a pretty amazing Zelda game.
@chris
Wind Waker was hardly the first zelda game. Windwaker came out in 2002/2003
The FIRST zelda game came out in 1987 and was the first one I played. Either you are very young, or you mistyped your thoughts above.
@1 SaltManZ. I don’t mean solely a graphical update so much as a new adventure in Wind Waker graphic style that echoes the Hyrule of the original Zelda game. Kind of like Link To The Past did. I guess what I’d like is a Zelda game with a little LESS depth, if that makes any sense. Something that’s just a straight ahead, colorful adventure, which this fan trailer puts me in the mood for.
