It looks like there’s going to be another sci-fi action film headed our way! This one is based on William R. Forstchen’s One Second After, a thriller that takes place after an electromagnetic pulse attack throws the country into chaos.

According to Deadline, Josh Holloway, who is arguably best known for playing Sawyer on Lost (and also starring in the more recent series, Duster) will star as “John Matherson, a college professor and former military officer charged with protecting his community” after the catastrophic event. Deadline goes on to describe the plot of the movie:

Set in the hills of North Carolina, the film follows John as he confronts a world suddenly stripped of power, communication, and modern infrastructure, guiding those around him through life-or-death decisions in a fight for survival.

Good times! The movie certainly has all the elements of a thriller, and with veteran stunt coordinator and second unit director Scott Rogers (Tron: Ares, John Wick: Chapter 4) on board to direct the film, it’s likely the action scenes will be good ones.

The project is brought to us by MPI Original Films (MotherlandPinball: The Man Who Saved the Game) and Startling Inc. (House of the DragonGame of Thrones). Filming is set to start in Sofia, Bulgaria, next month. No news yet on when the film will make its way to a screen near you. icon-paragraph-end
