Subterranean Press is releasing two special limited editions of Steven Erikson’s Midnight Tides, the fifth volume in The Malazan Book of the Fallen. For these special editions, they’ve brought on artist Lauren Saint-Onge, who created the innovative Subterranean Press covers for Ancillary Justice and Ancillary Sword, and whose dynamic dragon artwork we featured in our Picturing Dragons post.
The limited edition (of which there are 500 copies, numbered and signed by Erikson) will include a number of full-color interior illustrations, while the lettered edition (only 52 copies, also signed and deluxe bound) will have the aforementioned features as well as a completely different dust jacket and a gatefold pull-out illustration.
Saint-Onge shared the above wraparound art on her website; Subterranean Press also posted the cover and one of the interior illustrations:

SP editions have an amazing ability to select fabulous-looking scenes from the books that I don’t remember at all. It would make a re-read that much more fun.
Looks to me like Seren Pedac with Hull Beddict on the cover, and an Edur bloodwood boat during the seal hunt on the bottom!
Both very beautiful images!
looks like a GREAT production. unfortunately Subterranean’s limiteds of their best series are for the one percenters – which I hope to be one day, but am certainly not now
Awesome! Huge fan of Ms. Saint-Onge’s work!
