It’s time the world knew her name is the tagline in the first teaser for Marvel Studios and Netflix’s new superhero series, Jessica Jones. But we do know it—we hear the Purple Man (David Tennant) creepily whispering “Jessicaaaa” to Krysten Ritter’s superhero-turned-P.I. While for a while we were unsure when we would get to see Jessica’s story, the studios have finally announced the premiere date: November 20!
Despite all the set photos and other insights from shooting, there’s no real footage yet in this teaser. But consider it alongside this summary that Marvel posted:
After a tragic ending to her short-lived super hero stint, Jessica Jones is rebuilding her personal life and career as a detective who gets pulled into cases involving people with extraordinary abilities in New York City.
Still, the teaser is wonderfully atmospheric, set to a song by Monsters and Men while we see shots of the Purple Man’s pull on Jessica, a spilled drink, Alias Investigations, and a shot similar to Daredevil‘s teaser (albeit in purple tones) of Jessica standing alone in the street. It would make great opening credits. Check it out for yourself:
