The second season of Good Omens is now on Prime Video for your viewing pleasure. And while it’s wonderful to watch Aziraphale and Crowley once again played ineffably by Michael Sheen and David Tennant, the season finale leaves you wanting for more.
Whether there will be a third season of Good Omens remains in the hands of the Amazon execs (though if you watch it before August 25 you’re helping improve the odds). For those worried, however, don’t fret: Gaiman has addressed your concerns.
When someone on Tumblr asked Gaiman if he would release a script book if the third season wasn’t greenlit, the author replied, “No, I’d write a novel.”
The thought of another Good Omens book is enticing, but I deeply hope that the show will get that third season so we see what happens with our favorite angel and demon (I’m trying to keep away from spoilers here, but if you’ve seen the season two finale you know that it is begging for a third season).
Perhaps we’ll get both down the road, if we want to keep that good thought in our brains and hope for this delightful future. It’s good to know, however, that we’ll at least get closure in some form to Crowley and Aziraphale’s story. In the meantime, we can reread the first book by Gaiman and Terry Pratchett or rewatch the first two seasons on Prime Video.
