In December 2016, Neil Gaiman did his part for Worldbuilders charity with an atmospheric reading of Edgar Allan Poe’s classic poem, “The Raven.”
In honor of Poe’s 209th birthday, we’re pleased to share it again! Join Gaiman below—surrounded by candles, a flickering fire, and wearing the coat of a murdered prince of Stormhold—to celebrate this quaint and curious volume of forgotten lore…
Since 2008, the Worldbuiders charity—a geek-centered nonprofit founded by author Patrick Rothfuss—has raised millions of dollars for Heifer International. To learn more, visit worldbuilders.org.
Happy Birthday Edgar! Your great works live on!
I’ve heard Neil read both recorded and in person and he never disappoints. My favorite thing here, though, is that the speech-to-text function renders the credit line “Edgar Allen Poe’s” as “a grandpa’s.”
This is a fine way to celebrate a special day. Happy 209th!
