The Marvel Studios Twitter account is bringing us down, you guys.
Marvel has just released individual character posters for everyone in (or even seemingly related to) Avengers: Endgame and each one is coded to reveal their fate, with the Infinity War survivors in color and the fallen in black and white.
The good news is that some of our favorite characters survived Thanos’ Snap!
The bad news…
Spoilers ahead for Endgame, obviously!
First off, let’s celebrate confirmation of the following survivors:

SUIT UP. WE’RE GOING THANOS-HUNTING.
HYPE!
@@@@@#1
Are you really complaining that the mainstream is actually enjoying comic book movies and have been waiting for one eagerly? Really?
@2 – and especially complaining here? At a site that is literally all about genre?
But, benefit of the doubt, just the word “HYPE!” can go either way. Hype isn’t good or bad, it just is. Maybe MaGnUs is really excited, and not complaining at all. /shrug
No Shuri? But who’s ruling Wakanda? *whines*
The fact the civilization survived the snap and did not completely collapse is why this whole storyline is a joke.
@5 – How do you know it didn’t?
MaGnUs is for sure genuinely excited (I say). I totally took that as a “get excited – it’s happening!!!” statement. (Wow, it’s so fun deconstructing a five character post!!) I am also hyped, by the way. Watched Infinity War and Civil War these past few days in preparation. It’s happening, y’all. Major HYPE!
@@.-@ The queen mother maybe? I can only guess she’s still around. Or maybe the general took the helm for a bit.
Maybe Ross used the remnants of SHIELD to take over Wakanda (for stability, etc) and after the unsnapping, the next Black Panther movie will be Wakanda throwing the neo-imperialist west out again?
OK BUT WHERE IS KORG?
@@.-@
M’Baku took over. He would be a great king.
LOL we literally saw how rulers are chosen in Wakanda, and just being related to the previous ruler does not mean you rule. I’m guessing Heads of Clan and their families are those definitely allowed to contend, but for story purposes I’m guessing M’Baku wins. As much as I like the idea of Queen Mother throwing down (YES PLEASE).
I really wish Shuri had survived the snap though. She is a favorite. Happy gets a few laughs but REALLY? Happy but not Shuri? Sigh.
@2 “HYPE!” is not a complaint; it’s a meme. Go watch some Awesome Games Done Quick videos for an example. One person says “hype,” then everyone in the room says “HYPE”!
Also,
HYPE!
How is it news that Shuri is dead? We’ve known that since the first trailer dropped.
I’m very excited about this film, guys. No sarcasm.
@13 – tim: It’s a meme? I didn’t know.
@14 – Dean: No, we knew she was missing, but not that she’d been snapsassinated.
@@@@@14 and 15: I’d say while technically MaGnUs is correct, we were 99% sure she was dead. Point for MaGnUs – Scott Lang was pictured in the ‘snapped’ pictures in the trailer and we – the audience – knew he was just trapped. But, since the Avengers have a sure commuincation line to Wakanda – in fact, they were IN Wakanda when the snap happened – we can be pretty confident that they had confirmation of Shuri’s snapification. Actually, did we ever see her after Thanos’ baddie attacked her trying to get to Vision? I can’t remember how that scene ended. Did Vision distract the guy to save her? Did she escape? Did the guy just go around her? Or, did he kill her off screen? Could she be actually dead?
@@@@@ 12 Mirana: From a storytelling perspective, if this is Tony’s last movie, then it makes sense to have his main support team (Pepper and Happy) play a role as his story wraps up.
Edit: I just went and watched the scene. She got knocked through a glass railing and fell 15 feet ish and got knocked out. So, while she could have died from injuries from that – most likely she would have recovered fine. Meaning she probably got snapped.
@@@@@ 5
Like others have said, we don’t know if civilization collapsed or not.
But I think it wouldn’t collapse. Humanity faced some pretty terrible things in the past, and civilization, most of the time, went on. Sometimes it got terrible scars for centuries (the Mayans after their collapse), sometimes what didn’t kill it actually made it stronger (Europe after the Black Death). Really, look at the death tolls of the Black Death. Some cities would after a few months have 30%-60% less population, and some historians say that Europe got better after the Black Death (if you were a worker).
There will be chaos, but not collapse.
Sorry, MaGnUs, I’ve seen so many people complaining about everything under the sun that I made an assumption. I’m right there with you on being totally excited, I can’t freaking wait!!!!!
I agree with @18. There will be chaos; and a lot of people who were doing prosperity types of jobs (youtube comedians, for examples) will find themselves being drafted into things like street sweeping or agriculture, and retirees with professional qualifications will find themselves being un-retired pretty quickly, while those who work in professional fields will probably be expected to be doing double and triple shifts to cover for the dusted while draftees are being trained up; but that is just chaos. It isn’t collapse.
There will be a death toll, but it will not be an overwhelming one. And unless the snappening wiped out entire sectors of trained people, which seems unlikely by random draw, the survivors will still -with great effort and the drafting of retirees along with hastening into practice those already in training- be able to keep things running while new people are trained. There will just be, like in wartime Europe or post Brexit UK, less choice in where you go to work. I don’t know why people got the idea it would lead to total collapse of civilisation.
The last time the population was half of what it is today was the long, long ago ancient time of… the 1960’s.
So yeah, chaos? Totally. Collapse? Unlikely. Nobody is going to be living in mud huts (who aren’t already living in mud huts, I mean) but things will definitely be chaotic.
@20 – ErisianSaint: No worries at all.
@22 – danielmclark: There is a big difference between having half of the population because it hadn’t yet grown to that size, and half of the population disappearing instantaneously.
