It’s the end of the world as we know it, and we feel fine…because we’ve selected a winner in our post-apocalyptic caption contest (rules here). And the lucky mutant is:

6. R.Fife

Come and listen to a story about a gal named Zed
a poor mutanteer, made those glowies all eat lead
Then one day she was shootin at a thrall
And down through the sky came a firey ball

Rock, that is, moon stone, Kansas Crash

Honorable mentions:

1. Kate_Baker

In prime position overlooking the ruined Emerald City, Dorothy checked her weapon supply in preparation for the alien-robo monkey onslaught.

11. MMc

It’s about time you got back. I had to shoot Billy. You hungry?

13. Jenn M

Ya see this gun? That’s for your “last two people on Earth” fantasies.

Congratulations to R.Fife for crafting the winning entry. Please contact the award administrator (me, John Joseph Adams) at [email protected] with your mailing address, and please specify which version of Fallout 3 you would like (Xbox 360, PS3, or PC), and any special inscription or personalization you’d like to your copy of Wastelands.

P.S. For those of you who are very sad that you didn’t win, but you’d still really, really like to own a print of the caption contest image, those are for sale, available directly from the artist. Visit his website for more details.
