Unlike the teaser released in April, today’s Practical Magic 2 trailer reveals major plot points from the screenplay by Akiva Goldsman, Georgia Pritchett, and Kelly Marcel.
Those plot points seem to be: (1) the curse where anyone who falls in love with an Owens sister dies tragically is apparently not broken; (2) Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman’s two daughters (played by Maisie Williams and Joey King) apparently had no idea they were witches and that the curse wasn’t broken when one of their boyfriends, played by Xolo Maridueña, gets in a terrible bike accident; and (3) King turns to the dark side to try to break the curse and the Owens sisters must save her, with a little help from a sometimes-naked, always-tattooed Lee Pace, who also appears to be Bullock’s love interest.
The trailer lays all this out and more, and also gives us more glimpses of Dianne Wiest and Stockard Channing reprising their roles from the first film.
Magic can do good and bad! And we’ll get to see the Owens tackle it all when Practical Magic 2, directed by Susanne Bier, heads to theaters on September 11, 2026.
