The first trailer for the Harry Potter spin-off Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them takes us back to the wizarding world, or a 1920s American version, anyway. The trailer is pretty light on any actual magic, and the fantastic beasts themselves are only hinted at, but we do get a bit of roguish charm from Eddie Redmayne as Newt Scamander—he seems to have accidentally unleashed some magical creatures on an unsuspecting New York City, but we’re sure he’ll set things right…
We love that glimpse of the Magical Congress—the officials look a little less stuffy than their British Ministry counterparts, although maybe that’s mostly down to the fashion-forward art deco styling. In any case, we’re excited to delve more into this corner of J.K. Rowling’s universe! Fantastic Beasts hits theaters in November 2016.
