To prepare for release of A Memory of Light, the final volume of The Wheel of Time, Tor.com released five special Facebook Timeline banners this week! Click the above image to see it full size, drag it to your desktop, or Save Image As to post it on your Facebook profile.
Five characters in total were depicted as they geared up for The Last Battle. The final one is Egwene al’Vere, otherwise known as Egwene Sedai, Watcher of the Seals, The Flame of Tar Valon, The Amyrlin Seat, depicted here having just blown a hole through the White Tower and now facing down a dragon without a trace of fear.

For the sake of convenience, we’ve included all the other Timeline banners below. Choose your poison!
Am I the only one that can’t get the links to work. I click the pictures but nothing happens!
The pictures are not cliackable; is it just me and my browser or are the links tainted by the Great Lord of the Dark?
I wish the Rand al’thor one had the quote death is lighter than a feather, duty heavier than a mountain. I know that is originally from Lan (in the books at least) but I associate it with Rand too. And Rand’s quote above about escaping his destiny… I dont really remember him dwelling a lot on how he could escape his destiny. guess I just dont really like that particular quote.
Hi Guys,
When you copy the images to your computer, they should all come up full-sized.
Shenanigans!
The images should be clickable now, everyone.
… Is it bad that I see that banner with “I am the Dragon Reborn!” and yet keep hearing Kyle Machlachlan saying the “I am the Kwisatz Haderach!” line?
I expected something far more epic for today based upon the announcement.
That is still the most awkward pose ever with that sword.
Why, oh why, would you stop? Obviously you have the images and there are hundreds of quotables. Please keep making more.
I cringe that the description says “depicted here having just blown a hole through the White Tower and now facing down a dragon without a trace of fear.” Come on people… it isn’t a dragon, it is a Raken. If you’re doing an official promotion at least get the terminology right.
@10 Vandread
Yeah and she didn’t blow the hole in the tower… one of the riding Damane did.
it should read “Stepping through a hole that had just been blown through the White Tower, Egwene faces down a Raken and its riders.”
The description on this one is sooo insulting to WOT fans. I can understand them getting who blew the whole in the wall wrong but come on. There are no Dragons as such in the ENTIRE series. Evidently they have never read any of the books and have no clue.
Or, you know, raken are what we now know as western dragons. It’s not shocking. Don’t be so picky and enjoy the art!
@Magentawolf
But it’s not a sword.
Nah! I’m just having a bad hair day. And Nynaeve’s got me riled for some reason of her own – to do with Lan, naturally!!! Nothing to worry about, folks!
They didn’t put the hat!! That was a bloody good hat to!!! haha
rand,s right hand? what
@bro: right hand ok. Semi trashed the other.

@Magentawolf I’ve thought that pose to be strange for some time too. Makes me wonder whether Rand ever actually took the time to re-learn the sword after that whole unfortunate amputation by fireball thing. I think it would be safe to assume he might use Callandor as an actual sword as well as for it’s intended purpose, especially considering that either Moiraine or Nynaeve will be controlling the circle – that’s why callandor has been largely unused, because pissed off angsty rand saw that flaw as a “box”. Maybe re-learning the sword is what he’s been up to while he’s been absent from the narrative. Anyway, if he did relearn the sword with one hand, and is using callandor as a blade, that might explain the awkward pose as a stillframe of a sword form. Either way, I don’t think my opinion differs from that of most when I say the artwork is great, and likely worthy of the book it will cover.
