Blumhouse has a new horror film coming out this spring called Woman in the Yard that, as this latest trailer confirms, features an ominous, supernatural woman dressed in black sitting in a yard. What that woman’s up to isn’t clear, but she does whisper, “Today’s the day” beneath her veil while raising bloodied hands, suggesting that whatever’s going to happen, it’s not going to be great.

Here’s the synopsis:

Danielle Deadwyler stars as Ramona, a woman crippled by grief after she survives a car accident that takes her husband. Seriously injured, Ramona now must care for their 14-year-old son 6-year-old-daughter alone in her rural farmhouse.

Then one day the woman takes form in their yard.

Ramona assumes the woman is lost or demented, but as the woman creeps nearer and nearer to the house, it becomes clear she is no ordinary figure and her intentions are anything but peaceful. Now Ramona must rally to protect herself and her children from the grasp of the woman who simply won’t leave them alone.

The film is the latest from director Jaume Collet-Serra, who also helmed movies like Jungle Cruise, Black Adam, and the recent Netflix hit, Carry-On. It’s written by Sam Stefanak (F Is for Family).

In addition to Deadwyler (TillCarry-On) as Ramona, the film stars Okwui Okpokwasili (The Exorcist: Believer) as the mysterious woman. It also features Peyton Jackson (RespectAmerican Refugee) as Ramona’s son, Estella Kahiha (Will TrentBMF) as her daughter, and Russell Hornsby (BMFFences) as her deceased husband.

Woman in the Yard premieres in theaters on March 28, 2025.
