The John Wick universe is continuing to expand. Today, Deadline broke the news that a series titled John Wick: Under the High Table is in development, with Keanu Reeves and director Chad Stahelski on board as executive producers.

The show takes place immediately after the events of John Wick 4. Reeves is not currently set to act in it, though he apparently will be “very hands-on.”

Here’s the synopsis of the series, per Deadline:

John Wick has left the world of the High Table in a tenuous position and a collection of new characters will look to make a name for themselves while some of the franchise stalwart characters remain committed to the old-world order.

Robert Levine, whose previous credits include the FX series The Old Man, is showrunning and has written the scripts. Stahelski is also on board to direct the pilot. We don’t know what familiar faces we’ll see though, it’s teased that there will be old and new characters involved in the story.

This isn’t the first TV series set in the Wick universe. The first was The Continental, which took place in the 1970s. Stahelski wasn’t involved in the development of the prequel, which received mixed reviews. Odds are good given the level of involvement here, however, that Under the High Table will fare better.

Stahelski and co. are developing the series under the director’s deal with Lionsgate. They’re currently shopping it around, so no news yet on what network or platform we’ll ultimately see it on. icon-paragraph-end
