In one of the books, the signal for something to happen (a bomb going off, I think) was that someone said a mnemonic for remembering the colors of the rainbow– Richard Of York Gave Battle In Vain (red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, violet), which I liked so much better than ROY G BIV.
Well that makes me want to reread the books at least…
