Peggy Carter is your Captain now.

The Disney+ showcase on Friday at D23 Expo was full of series announcements for the new streaming platform, and the second half of the presentation was dominated by updates to the Marvel Cinematic Universe Phase 4 television shows. Highlights of those updates are below.

WHAT IF…?

  • The What If…? show will have one episode for each MCU film.
  • That includes an episode featuring Peggy Carter (Hayley Atwell) as Captain Britain.
  • As well as Marvel Zombies.
  • And a different person, possibly T’Challa, as Star-Lord.

THE FALCON AND THE WINTER SOLDIER

  • Sharon Carter (Emily VanCamp) will join the series.
  • Wyatt Russell will also be joining the series as John Walker, the first on-screen representation of this comic character

WANDAVISION

  • Darcy Lewis (Kat Jennings) will join the series.
  • Randall Park will also join the series, but it is unclear if he will be reprising his role from The Ant-Man and The Wasp.
  • Kathryn Hahn has also joined the series.
  • The implication is that Wanda has discovered how to use her abilities to warp reality after the events of Avengers: Endgame.

Nothing was revealed from Loki (although Tom Hiddleston did send an apologetic thank you to the crowd), nor Hawkeye. Three new Disney+ live-action shows were also revealed during the presentation: Ms. Marvel, Moon Knight, and She-Hulk!

WandaVision sounds like one of those 1-900 psychic reading hotlines you used to see advertised on late night TV.

Wan Davison is shaping up to be an interesting series.

That said, still mad that Falcon and the Winter Soldier isn’t called Captain America and Bucky. I really hoped that after Endgame came out for home watching and concerns about spoilers were done we’d see that change.

Marvel Zombies, I like that idea, Captain Britian, i’m not crazy about that idea .

Darcy on WandaVision? Why? I mean, I’m sure it’ll make sense somehow – they’re not going to have her on there without an explanation – but I don’t see it. She doesn’t have a connection to anyone but Jane (and Thor, I guess, through Jane).

@3 The beauty of “what if” stories is that they are outside continuity, and so they can take some chances with the stories.

According to IMDB, Randall Park will be reprising the role of Jimmy Woo, which would be great. I always liked that character, as he appears so many places in the Marvel universe. I would love to see the Agents of Atlas appear someday.

And Emily VanCamp will be a great addition to the Cap and Bucky show.

– danielmclark: They’ve said that Wandavision has Wanda exploring the reality-altering aspect of her powers. The show also ties into the Multiverse of Madness movie. Darcy worked with an astrophysicist (Foster) who researched wormholes and portals into other dimensions. Makes sense.

@5 – Alan: Agents of Atlas would be cool. Unfortunately, Ant-Man and the Wasp wrote Jimmy like an idiot, too easily fooled.

@2 They are talking about US Agent being part of the Falcon/Bucky series. We have to remember that Cap was not in the good graces of the authorities after Civil War. So the US government might very well not be willing to accept the heir to the role that was handpicked by Steve Rogers. Instead, they might want their own guy, and we could easily see Bucky and Falcon, trying to do the right thing, running afoul of a new hero that the government is sponsoring, especially if that new hero is not very idealistic.

Yes, that is my thinking about Falcon/Winter Soldier.
