The long-awaited third season of Seth MacFarlane’s The Orville has had a few changes—including a move from Fox to Hulu. The second season ended in 2019, so it’s been almost three years (and a lot of pandemic delays) since audiences went adventuring with Captain Ed Mercer (MacFarlane) and the Orville’s crew.
You’ll have to wait just a little bit longer: season three’s premiere date has been pushed from March to June. But Hulu released a teaser for the new season, titled The Orville: New Horizons, that throws us right into the action.
MacFarlane shared a link to the teaser on Twitter, noting that he understands fans’ frustration with the long wait:

The teaser is all explosions—first in space, and then aboard the ship. (Who gets into an elevator on a ship that’s full of explosions, I ask you.) There’s almost a solid minute of epic space battle before the perspective changes to inside the Orville—and of course the opening ends on a dramatic note before the new titles begin.
Along with writer and creator MacFarlane, the show stars Adrianne Palicki, Penny Johnson Jerald, Scott Grimes, Peter Macon, J. Lee, Mark Jackson, and Chad L. Coleman. The Orville arrives in Hulu’s galaxy on June 2nd.
