The all-star cast for Denis Villeneuve’s Dune: Part Two has gotten even more stellar with the likely addition of Léa Seydoux (pictured above in the James Bond film No Time To Die). According to Deadline, Seydoux will play Lady Margot, a Bene Gesserit entwined in the political machinations of the Padishah Empire.

In Frank Herbert’s book, Margot Fenring and her husband Count Hasimir Fenring initially served the interest of the Emperor. Margot, like Lady Jessica, is also a Bene Gesserit and sends Jessica a coded message when they first land on Arrakis warning them about the Harkonnen’s murderous intentions. This sequence was not in Villeneuve’s Part One, but Lady Margot also plays a role later on in the book where she (among other things) aims to seduce Feyd-Rautha Harkonnen to preserve the bloodline.

Seydoux is just the latest actor to join Villenueve’s second Dune film. In the last few months we’ve learned that ElvisAustin Butler will play Feyd-Rautha Harkonnen, Florence Pugh will be Princess Irulan and the great Christopher Walken will embody the Padishah Emperor, Shaddam IV of House Corrino. Dune: Part Two will also see the return of Part One stars Timotheé Chalamet (“Paul Atreides”) Zendaya (“Chani”), Rebecca Ferguson (“Lady Jessica”), Stellan Skarsgård (“Baron Harkonnen”), Josh Brolin (“Gurney Halleck”), Javier Bardem (“Stilgar”), and Dave Bautista (“Rabban Harkonnen”).

Dune: Part Two is expected to start shooting this summer and will premiere in theaters on October 20, 2023. In the meantime, you can reread Frank Herbert’s novel (again) and/or check out Dune: Part One on HBO Max.
