Frank M. Robinson, 1926 – 2014

We are saddened to note the passing of author Frank M. Robinson, as reported this morning on SFSite, at the age of 87.

Robinson was a noted pulp fiction enthusiast, novelist, journalist, editor, and screenwriter. His notable works include The Glass Inferno (one of many works written with his partner Thomas N. Scortia), which was adapted into the film The Towering Inferno, as well as the Lambda Award-winning sci-fi novel The Dark Beyond The Stars, published in 1991.

Outside of genre fiction, Robinson’s many accomplishments included long editorial tenures at men’s magazines Rogue and Playboy, as well as a stint as Harvey Milk’s speechwriter during Milk’s San Francisco campaigns in the late 1970s.

Hard-working and gregarious, Frank M. Robinson leaves behind a rich history of work and we are thankful for the opportunity to experience the variety of what he left behind. You can find out more about Robinson at his website.
