In four months, the Enterprise flies again. Finally, Paramount+ announced the premiere date for Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, the Discovery spinoff that takes place on the Enterprise prior to Captain Kirk’s era. Strange New Worlds takes to the skies on May 5th.
But first, Discovery (continuing its fourth season) returns on February 10th, and Picard‘s second season arrives March 3rd!
And of course Prodigy is currently airing (and was already renewed), and Lower Decks is expected to return for season three this summer. This leaves one key potential series still unaccounted for: Section 31, which would follow Michelle Yeoh’s Philippa Georgiou. Last month, Star Trek mastermind Alex Kurtzman said it’s still alive, but that’s not a lot to go on.

Sisters of the Forsaken Stars
Strange New Worlds, on the other hand, is more than ready to fly—though they’ve yet to show us a trailer. Anson Mount’s Captain Pike is at the helm, sharing the bridge with Ethan Peck’s Mr. Spock and Rebecca Romijn’s Number One, Una Chin-Riley. Last fall, the series rounded out its cast to include familiar Trek characters Cadet Uhura (Celia Rose Gooding), Nurse Chapel (Jess Bush), and Doctor M’Benga (Babs Olusanmokun), along with some new roles: Hemmer (Bruce Horak), Erica Ortegas (Melissa Navia), and La’an Noonien-Singh (Christina Chong).
Though it has yet to air a single episode, Strange New Worlds has already been renewed for a second season. Picard was given the go-ahead for a third season, but Paramount has also now announced that Discovery will return for a fifth season, and Lower Decks for a fourth.
In short: Star Trek isn’t ending its voyages any time soon.
