In this house things are creepy AF! That’s the big takeaway from this Skinamarink trailer, which shows lots of shots of two kids wandering in a dark house that has mysteriously lost all its windows and doors.

The movie comes from director Kyle Edward Ball and premiered in festivals this year to much critical acclaim. Anecdotally, I’ve also heard hardened horror fans call this one of the scariest films they’ve ever seen and that it’s a movie that drove them to terror tears. Needless to say, I will not be watching it, but hope others who can handle that stuff do!

Here’s the movie’s official synopsis:

Two children wake up in the middle of the night to find their father is missing, and all the windows and doors in their home have vanished. To cope with the strange situation, the two bring pillows and blankets to the living room and settle into a quiet slumber party situation. They play well worn videotapes of cartoons to fill the silence of the house and distract from the frightening and inexplicable situation. All the while in the hopes that eventually some grown-ups will come to rescue them. However, after a while it becomes clear that something is watching over them.

Nope. No thank you! If you’re made of stronger mettle than me, however, you can check out  Skinamarink when it premieres in theaters on January 13, 2023 and/or on Shudder later on in the year.
