Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, the second film focused on the titular superhero, just came out last year, but it sounds like there will be a third movie centered on the character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Lost in the Moment and Found
We already knew from the end of Wakanda Forever that the Black Panther “will return” at some point, though that could be as part of one of the larger films, or in a role supporting another superhero. In an interview with Variety, however, Letitia Wright shared that she thought a third installment was “already in the works” before adding:
“You know, we just had a terrific two years of bringing it out and everybody coming together to support it. We need a little bit of a break, we need to regroup and [writer-director] Ryan [Coogler] needs to get back into the lab, so it’s going to take a little while, but we’re really excited for you guys to see that.”
Wright, who plays Shuri in the MCU (a character who has quite a journey in Wakanda Forever, which I won’t spoil in case you haven’t seen it yet), isn’t the decision-maker for whether we’ll get a Black Panther 3, of course—that call ultimately rests with Marvel’s Chief Creative Officer Kevin Feige. Wright also said when pressed by Variety for details that “good words manifest, so I’m manifesting a Black Panther 3, why not?”
That being said, a third film is far from outside the realm of possibility. Feige even said in a November 2022 interview with Variety that he’d had conversations with Coogler already about a third film, though nothing was officially confirmed. Given the critical and box office success of both Black Panther movies, however, the odds seem favorable we’ll get a another. When, however, is the big question we don’t have an answer to.
