Songs are earworms. Songs are very effective ways to remember things. (Surely I’m not the only one who can still name all the states in order thanks to middle school choir.) And, in All You Need is Death, songs might bring back… other things. In this trailer for the eerie film from writer-director Paul Duane, two young folks go looking for forbidden knowledge hidden in songs. And they clearly get more than they bargained for.
Here’s the synopsis:
The movie stars Simone Collins (The Last Duel) and Charlie Maher (Blue Lights) as the aforementioned young couple; it’s a reunion for them, as both also appeared in Conversations with Friends. Halo’s Olwen Fouéré plays the woman who knows the song that maybe shouldn’t be sung. She also gets the best line in the trailer: “Love is a knife with a blade for a handle.” That’s what the song would be called—if it had a name. But terrifying ancient things might be better off without names.
All You Need is Death is on VOD and in select theaters on April 11th.
