A new Batman animated movie is on its way, and Adam West, Burt Ward, and Julie Newmar are back! Check out this trailer for Batman: Return of the Caped Crusaders.
Behold–a glorious meta-trailer:
It’s been 50 years since Adam West and Burt Ward started playing Batman and Robin on television, and they’ve still got it. Can’t wait for this!
Batman: Return of the Caped Crusaders will be available on Digital HD on October 11th and on Blu-Ray November 1st.
Some would look at this trailer and ask, “Why?”
Others would answer, “Why Not?”
Personally, I’m more inclined to say “What took you so long?”
Adam West sounds a bit frail.
Please please please tell me that Keith will be reviewing this when it’s out?
#2
That tends to happen when you’re 87.
Yes, please.
And we’ll have fun, fun, fun until Daddy takes the keys to the George Barris’s transformed Lincoln Futura concept car away.
Keith would very much like to review this when it’s out………………………

Mr. West really does sound frail, even taking account his age, and towards the end of the trailer, it really looked like his voice over didn’t quite match-up with the animation mouth movements; Ward doesn’t sound as young as he used. It’s great that Newmar will be available but the last time I saw her in anything recent (an interview appearance with the young actress that portrays Selina on that Elseworld thing on Fox), she also sounded her age, albeit she looked a lot better and sounded a lot better than West does. Given that Gorshin, Meredith and Romero will all need to be voiced by new actors, they might as well have gone all out and re-cast. As with the Clone Wars tv show, no one really notices that Obi Wan or Anakin are not played by the same people as in the prequel trilogy and they likely wouldn’t know if they ignored the credits.
I would just as soon they take the animation style from Mike Allred (see the Batman ’66 comics) and use Diedrich Bader’s voice for Bruce, and the other voice people from something like Batman – The Brave and the Bold.
