He is a member of the executive board, & Virtual Conference Director, for the International Association For The Fantastic In The Arts, under which he organized the Virtual Conference For the Fantastic In The Arts 2 - AAAA: AI, Algorithms, Automata & Art, that had guests of honour Martha Wells, Stephen Barnes & Annalee Newitz. His works have won the Nebula, Otherwise, British & World Fantasy awards, & been a finalist in the Hugo, British Science Fiction, Sturgeon, Otherwise & NAACP Image award. He co-edited Africa Risen on Tordotcom, founded & edits the line of Year's Best African Speculative Fiction anthologies, was a guest or honour at ConCon, the Afrofuturism themed ICFA 44, & coined the genre label, Afropantheology.
