Stephan Martiniere

Stephan Martiniere attended high school at one of the most renowned art schools in Paris.  Since then he has worked in almost every visual medium for countries from Asia to the U.S.  Stephan has directed many animated series for television, including the musical adaptation Madeline, which received the ACT Award, the Parent’s Choice Award and an Emmy nomination. As a concept illustrator, Stephan worked for theme parks and motion picture rides such as “Star Trek: The Experience” and “The Race For Atlantis” in Las Vegas. These projects led Stephan to Hollywood, where he had the opportunity to design for the feature films Virus, The Astronaut's Wife, Red Planet, The Time Machine, I, Robot and Star Wars: Attack of the Clones and Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith. Stephan was also the visual design director for the game company Cyan. For several years he was responsible for creating and overseeing the artistic content and visual look for URU’s Ages Beyond Myst and Myst 5.  Stephan has also established himself as a book cover illustrator.   

His concept designs and illustrations have garnered him a gold Spectrum award, eight Excellence Awards and three Masters Awards from Exposé. Stephan is also the recipient of the BSFA and two Chesley Awards and was nominated twice for a Hugo Award. In 2006, Stephan received the Exposé Grand Master Award for artistic achievement. He is currently an advisory board member of the CG Society.

Stephan is also the Creative Visual Director for Midway Games in Chicago.
