Amanda Rutter (she of the massive Malazan Reread of the Fallen) has been organizing and collecting for Genre for Japan in an effort to put the SFF community’s resources to work helping Japan rebuild. (You can read about its inception here.)
In only two weeks, through auctions and donations, Amanda and her helpers have raised over $18,000 dollars in relief! This is on top of a day job and writing ceaselessly for Tor.com, Floor to Ceiling Books, and other outlets. Her incredible effort is absolutely inspiring.
