Never say never. Sure, Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine died in Logan, which came out in 2017. But that movie was set in 2029, which is years from now! A fact Ryan Reynolds and the Deadpool team may be taking advantage of: Yesterday, Reynolds took to social media to share his feelings on the next Deadpool film. And to let us all know that Jackman will be in it.

Jackman has been playing the adamantium-clawed mutant since 2000’s X-Men. While some originally complained that he was too tall for the role—Wolverine is canonically not a large man—he was, you have to admit, very good in it, even when some of the movies were kind of a mess.
This is a reunion for Reynolds and Jackman, whose characters faced each other in 2008’s X-Men Origins: Wolverine, though that unfortunate version of the character was dealt with at the end of Deadpool 2. (Sometimes you’ve just got to change the canon.)
Deadpool 3 will be directed by Shawn Levy, a Stranger Things producer who directed Reynolds in Free Guy and The Adam Project. The script is by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, who wrote the first two Deadpool movies; Reese has confirmed that though Deadpool is now officially part of the MCU, the movie will still be R-rated.
Reynolds and Jackman took to Twitter this morning to answer a few more questions. Sort of.
