Last week, Netflix pummeled us with trailers for upcoming shows and movies as part of its Geeked Week promotion—and a lot of those trailers were for upcoming animated projects, including Orion and the Dark and the sixth season of The Dragon Prince. But there’s more—so much more. Here are all the trailers, rounded up for your animated entertainment.
My Daemon (series, November 23rd)
I absolutely cannot deal with how creepy-cute the little creature in this trailer is; if anything happens to her I will sob. The summary explains, “The Netflix series My Daemon is an all-new anime born from a collaboration between writer Hirotaka Adachi (Otsuichi) and a spirited animation studio in Thailand. In Earth’s near future, a kindhearted boy named Kento and a Daemon child called Anna set out on a grand adventure together in hopes of saving Kento’s mother.”
Masters of the Universe: Revolution (series, January 2024)
Is that … a robot Skeletor??? Yikes. Here’s the lengthy summary for this new series, which stars Chris Wood, Melissa Benoist, Liam Cunningham, Keith David (ed note: KEITH DAVID IS HORDAK!!!), Mark Hamill (ed note: MARK HAMILL KEEPS BEING SKELETOR!!!), Lena Headey, and many more:
It’s technology versus magic when He-Man and the heroic warriors face the forces of Skeletor and something more in Masters of the Universe: Revolution – the new epic chapter in the battle for Castle Grayskull! The newly mechanized Skeletor, armed with the might of Motherboard, attacks the heart of Eternia while Prince Adam grapples with a new responsibility and what that means for him as He-Man! Adam is forced to choose between the scepter or the sword, and a life as either the King or the Champion! Meanwhile, the new Sorceress Teela searches for the secret of Snake Magic in the mists of Darksmoke to rebuild a magic realm and help He-Man hold off the greatest threat Eternia has ever faced: the return of the despot Hordak, the ruthless leader of the Horde Empire!
Exploding Kittens (series, 2024)
Because absolutely everything needs to get made into a movie or series, the game Exploding Kittens is coming to Netflix in series form—starring Tom Ellis as God. Just, you know, God in the body of a bearded housecat. Mike Judge (Beavis and Butthead) is among the producers.
Jurassic World: Chaos Theory (series, 2024)
We are still trying to make Jurassic Park for kids, even though the first Jurassic Park was totally kid-friendly. “After the park has closed, after the kingdom has fallen, a new era of chaos begins,” says the summary for this one. It’s not a lot to go on.
Ultraman: Rising (film, 2024)
This one doesn’t have a release date yet, and the summary is a single sentence: “When baseball superstar Ken Sato returns home to Japan to pick up the mantle of Earth-defending superhero Ultraman, he quickly finds more than he bargained for as he’s forced to raise the offspring of his greatest foe.”
The Witcher: Sirens of the Deep (film, late 2024)
Another anime film from the Witcher universe is coming—this one promises to take you deeper into The Continent. Witcher video game actor Doug Cockle voices Geralt of Rivia in this tale, which The Verge reports is set in the middle of the show’s first season, and based on the story “A Little Sacrifice.”
And last but not least, Terminator is getting the anime treatment. No date announcement, just “coming soon.”
