Netflix’s Avatar: The Last Airbender is moving forward, and while we already knew about some of the casting choices, we have some new cast announcements today that flesh out (pun intended, I’m so sorry) the show.

Netflix announced on their “Geeked” Twitter account today the casting for five new roles: Azula, Suki, Yukari, Avatar Kyoshi, and Gran Gran.

Elizabeth Yu (All My Love) will play Azula, the firebending princess who will thwart everyone, even family, to gain the throne. Maria Zhang will be Suki, the Kyoshi warrior leader who has a run-in with Aang, Katara, and Sokka, while Tamlyn Tomita (Cobra Kai) will play Suki’s mother, Yukari.

Yvonne Chapman (Family Law) will take on the role of Avatar Kyoshi, a warrior of great renown, and Casey Camp-Horinek (Reservation Dogs) will play Katara and Sokka’s grandmother, the appropriately named Gran Gran.

The new cast members join Aang (Gordon Cormier), Katara (Kiawentiio), Sokka (Ian Ousley), and Zuko (Dallas Liu), as well as Uncle Iroh (Paul Sun-Hyung Lee), Fire Lord Ozai (Daniel Dae Kim), Gyatso (Lim Kay Siu), and more.

Production is underway for the show, which has had drama of its own when the original creators of the Avatar: The Last Airbender animated series, Michael Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko, left the live-action project due to creative differences. Albert Kim, whose past credits include writing for Leverage and being an executive producer on Sleepy Hollow and Nikita, is now on board as showrunner. No news yet on when the live-action Avatar: The Last Airbender will premiere on Netflix.
