This piece was written during the 2023 WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes. Without the labor of the writers and actors currently on strike, the film being covered here wouldn’t exist.

Did you know there are 1.65 million home invasions each year? None of them, however, are like the one that poor Brynn (Kaitlyn Dever) suffers through, a young woman who finds herself alone at night in her house when a scuttling invader enters.

As the newly released trailer for No One Will Save You reveals, however, her home invasion might be part of something that goes beyond the attack on Brynn’s domicile, and it also appears that these creatures from outer space do not have humanity’s best interests at heart.

The film comes from writer-director Brian Duffield (Spontaneous), who said that the sci-fi psychological thriller is more of a character piece than a full-blown alien invasion tale. “I wanted the movie to take the lead of a small intimate character study and drop an alien invasion on top of them,” Duffield said in a statement. “The end of the world won’t only be for those that are ready for it, and the idea of an alien movie rudely bursting the bubble our character has spent years building and cultivating felt like a unique way to tell a favorite story.”

That doesn’t mean we never see the extraterrestrials, however, as the trailer reveals them to be rather large with long appendages, not unlike a spider. Spooky!

We can see more of these aliens (most likely) as well as Brynn facing existential angst as she strives to survive when No One Will Save You begins streaming on Hulu on September 22, 2023.

In the meantime, here’s a poster to keep our existential dread up until then:
