We’ve known that a sixth Scream film was in the works for almost a year, and now, just as 2022 comes to a close, we’ve got a teaser that shows the Scream team heading to the Big Apple to face more murder and, yes, screams.

The teaser is only a minute long, but it shows the current Scream survivors on the New York City subway during Halloween time with more than a couple of Ghostfaces staring right at them. It’s spooky, folks!
Here is Scream VI’s official synopsis:
Following the latest Ghostface killings, the four survivors leave Woodsboro behind and start a fresh chapter. In Scream VI, Melissa Barrera (“Sam Carpenter”), Jasmin Savoy Brown (“Mindy Meeks-Martin”), Mason Gooding (“Chad Meeks-Martin”), Jenna Ortega (“Tara Carpenter”), Hayden Panettiere (“Kirby Reed”), and Courtney Cox (“Gale Weathers”) return to their roles in the franchise alongside Jack Champion, Henry Czerny, Liana Liberato, Dermot Mulroney, Devyn Nekoda, Tony Revolori, Josh Segarra and Samara Weaving.
Scream VI is directed by Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillet, with a screenplay by James Vanderbilt and Guy Busick. The film notably does not include Neve Campbell, who bowed out of the sixth movie after compensation negotiations didn’t pan out.
The Campbell-less Scream VI heads to theaters on March 10, 2023. We’ve also got this nifty poster, which will hopefully show up on some NYC subways soon.
