It’s been a decade since the SYFY made-for-television movie about sharks getting sucked up into a tornado and murdering people across Los Angeles graced the small screen. Lucky for us(?), Sharknado has been remastered (More sharks! More ‘Nado!) and will be gracing select theaters for a weekend.

Forget Barbenheimer, this Sharknado theatrical event proves that cinema is back! And what better way to spend the August 15-16 weekend than watching Ian Ziering and Tara Reid fight sharks in myriad creative ways. The movie has been fully remastered into 4K with hundreds of new visual effects and also has, according to its marketing material, “never-before-seen kills and thrills!”

2013’s Sharknado is just the first movie in the illustrious murder shark franchise. The series has spawned five sequels, culminating in 2018’s  The Last Sharknado: It’s About Time, which saw Ziering and Reid use time travel (that’s right, TIME TRAVEL) to go back to the past and prevent any sharknados from happening in the first place. Trippy! The movie sadly has a 27% critics score from Rotten Tomatoes but still fares better than Sharknado: The 4th Awakens, which has an abysmal 14% rating. (The first movie, in case you’re curious, triumphs with a 74% tomato score.)

Want to find out if this remastered Sharknado is swimming its way to a theater near you on August 15-16? You can check local listings and buy tickets at sharknado10th.com.

But wait, there’s more! The Asylum and Rubey Entertainment, the companies behind this cinematic experience, also released this alt poster for your enjoyment:
